Members of the Public: Informal public participation will be held from approx. 8:00 pm. Members of the public wishing to address the Council during the public participation section must send their request to the Parish Clerk prior to the meeting.


  1. Apologies
    To receive and record with a reason, any apologies for absence.
  2. Declarations of Interest
    To receive declarations of members’ interests in respect of items on this agenda.
  3. Exclusion of Press & Public
    To consider whether any items on the Agenda should be considered without the presence of the press and public, on the grounds of confidentiality, pursuant to the Public Bodies (Admission to Meetings) Act 1960 Section 1(2).

    To consider any applications received for the vacancy on the Parish Council.

v) Allerdale – Review of the Allerdale Borough Council – Local Validation List for applications.
w) CCC – Highways Asset Management Strategy 2020-2025 has been approved by Cabinet. The strategy can be read and downloaded in full on the county council’s website
x) CALC – Allerdale 3 tier meeting which will incorporate the Annual General Meeting (A.G.M.) of the Allerdale district of CALC on Thurs 17 September 2020 at 7pm and will be held virtually.
y) Allerdale – Email to confirm that no election has been called in relation to vacancy on parish Council and therefore vacancy can be filled by co-option.
z) Bendles Solicitors – re: Building at Causewayhead Cemetery – Email to confirm that the Parish Council will be responsible for the costs of utilities used rather than the installation of the pipe.
aa) CALC – Copy of email from NALC clarifying which government business grants parish and town councils are eligible to apply for.
bb) Allerdale – re: Dog Fouling PSPO response – Council’s consultation on the making of a Public Space Protection Order (PSPO) for the prohibition of dog fouling in the Borough.
cc) CALC – Details of the ‘Respect the outdoors’ campaign from Department for Environment, Food and Rural Affairs (DEFRA).
dd) CALC – Copy of CALC’s interim position statement on Local government reorganisation in Cumbria.
ee) CALC – Nominations to CALC Executive Committee 2020. Nominations to be returned by 28 August 2020.
ff) Allerdale Borough Council – re: Building at Causewayhead Cemetery – Email seeking information on the preferred location for the standpipe. Response sent after consulting with the Chairman.
gg) Allerdale Area Support – Cumbria Emergency Support Helpline is closing at the end of August but won’t be completely dead as it is likely to be reactivated in any future local or national lockdown.
hh) Allerdale District Annual meeting and 3 tier meeting – Copy of the annual report for the year since the last AGM.
ii) Cumbria County Council – County Council cabinet agreed to submit a proposal which would see the creating of a single new unitary council for the whole of Cumbria.
jj) CALC – Guidance from national stakeholders briefly summarising the proposals and purpose of the Planning White Paper and its three consultations.
kk) CALC – Notice of meeting – AGM Saturday 26 September 2020 at 10.30am via Zoom.
ll) Ministry of Housing Communities & Local Government – Letter from Simon Clarke MP thanking local government for how they have responded to the challenge of ensuring vital council business continues by holding remote meetings.
mm) Allerdale Borough Council – Invitation for parish councils to online information event about the new Allerdale & Lakeland Lottery on Monday 5 October 2020 at 4pm.
nn) Allerdale Borough Council re: Proposed Footway Lighting Energy Costs – The decision has been made to postpone the imposition of energy costs on the Parish’s due to a number of factors.
oo) Bendles Solicitors – re: Building at Causewayhead Cemetery – Confirmation that the water supply pipe has been repaired and the standpipe reinstated in the required location.
