£15,000 AVAILABLE TO COMMUNITY GROUPS IN & AROUND SILLOTH

community-foundationCommunity groups located close to the Hellrigg Wind Farm in Silloth are being encouraged to apply for grants between £500 and £10,000.

The money comes from the Hellrigg Community Benefit Fund and is available through Cumbria Community Foundation on behalf of RWE Innogy UK. Funding is available for charitable activities in Silloth or the parishes of Home St Cuthberts, Holme Low and Holme Abbey.

The fund supports environmental projects such as those that improve the environmental sustainability of community facilities or improve the energy efficiency of residents on low income, as well as community and educational related projects. Grants have previously been awarded to local sports teams, youth organisations and community events such as the Silloth Vintage Rally.

Annalee Holliday, Grants and Donor Services Officer at the Foundation, said: “ “The Hellrigg Community Benefit Fund provides vital support to organisations that are at the heart of these communities. Sometimes these organisations need only a small amount of financial support to help them achieve their goals; the fund is designed just for that.””

Applications are now open until Friday 7th October 2016. To find out more about the Hellrigg Community Benefit Fund visit www.cumbriafoundation.org or contact Annalee Holliday on 01900 82470 or email annalee@cumbriafoundation.org
